Attractions: This year we are here in August over the weekend of the Woodvale International Rally. RAF Woodvale is an operational training station 4 miles south of Southport and 5.5 miles from our site. The international rally started in 1971 as a charitable event that originally began as a model aircraft show. It has grown over the years to include car clubs, classic and vintage cars, buses, motor cycles, commercial and military vehicles. There is also a funfair, craft stalls, market, kite displays and other attractions. See www.woodvale-rally.org.uk for further information. Over 50,000 people attended in 2009. There may be a possibility for discounted tickets nearer the time. There are all the usual Southport attractions to be found, Lord Street shops, the pier, funfair, etc. The Martin Mere Wild Fowl Trust is close by www.wwt.org.uk
Jane has also agreed to provide massage again if the marquee is available. The money will go to the club’s charity. Adrian the site owner is in the process over the winter of converting the septic tank to an ‘Aerobic Waste Water Treatment Plant.’ Once this is done, it will be necessary to use an environmentally friendly or ‘green’ fluid in the toilet cassette.
